Where Del Rey Goes to Live, Work, & Play!
ABOUT
Paseo Marina was originally designed and presented to the community in 2016 as a housing project. It was intended to be a pedestrian connector from the Glencoe Maxella community to the Pavilions shopping center. Community outreach meetings brought to light concerns about loss of retail, traffic, density, and a lack of pedestrian scale.
Countless community meetings later, culminating in the Paseo Marina Working Group, fostered by the local council office, and including neighbors from the Del Rey Neighborhood Council, Villa Marina Council, and Villa Velletri, the project underwent a full-scale redesign, modifying residential unit counts, increasing retail options, and adding job opportunities, and a visioning exercise to design a privately maintained but publicly accessible community park.
Paseo Marina now reflects a more community-driven vision for a neighborhood gathering space that is walkable and safe for families, neighbors, and the local workforce. It is a destination that includes homes within walking distance to jobs, as well as basic shopping needs.
Now, we invite your input to ensure this site remains the heart of Del Rey. Thank you! We look forward to meeting you.
